13 – Flying Log Book World War II

  • This history is chronological so “Flying Log Books” may not be in sequence.

This would have been dads first flight since his plane ditched in the sea my understanding was that he was offered a desk job which he refused and said he wanted to fly again. This also meant he would no longer fly with his pilot S/LT DUGOT.

I uncovered what I could only call very interesting information about the pilot S/Ld Gorri. Read about it below!

Original “Observer’s and Gunner’s Flying Log Book” image at the bottom of the page!

FRENCH: Gorri: S/l (Squadron Leader : Commandant d’aviation). »

TRANSLATION: Squadron Leader Gorri pilot of Boston E (29yrs old) Gorri was his war name, his name was actually Michel Fourquet . “Gorri was the name of a celebrated Basque bandit. Being a proud Basque. Gorri even painted on the cabin of his aircraft the insignia of his country the reverse cross”.
